Am I Just A Mom? A Christian woman’s guide to grasping who she is in Christ as a mother

Becoming a mother is one of the greatest blessings God could bestow upon us but it is not an easy transition for some. Society and loved ones can be harsh in judging our parenting skills. We’ve all heard it before. If you’re a stay-at-home mama, you are perceived as lazy. If you’re a homeschooling mom, you’re perceived as someone who is holding their child back from social normality. If you’re a working mom, society says who are neglecting your child. Sometimes, it feels that we just can’t win and often times. we find ourselves asking, “Am I just a mom?”

This mom devotional was written for you!

Ladies, as a stay-at-home and homeschooling mama, I know first hand the struggle of losing oneself in motherhood. I spent years consuming myself with trying to be a perfect mother, so much so, that I stopped being myself. I lost myself in this ‘perfect picture’ I had concocted as to what I should be like as a mom, and I quickly became worn out. I do not desire that for any woman in motherhood.

This mom devotional ¬†was written for every mother who struggles with feeling incomplete. It is for the mom who had days where she is worn out and feels she doesn’t know where to go next in her life.

    Geri Parisella-
If you’re looking for the easy way out, don’t read this book! If you’re looking to keep running from the truth and making excuses, this is definitely not the book for you. And if you want to keep fixing the blame rather than your problems, then I’m 100% certain this book isn’t for you.

But, if you’re looking for a lovingly honest guide to discovering how to find your true fulfillment in Christ, this quick read is just what you need. The author speaks candidly from her own experience of looking everywhere but to Jesus to define and satisfy her. You’ll feel like you’re sitting down with your friend for coffee or even catching her ear for a few minutes on the phone with the familiar tone and no nonsense way she seems to converse with you through the pages.

Reading Am I Just a Mom? helped me to know that I’m not alone and that there’s nothing “wrong” with me, but that I just didn’t know the real truth yet of how to be truly satisfied. It gave me the confidence to be vulnerable enough to ask myself the hard questions and to bring them to Jesus. I was able to take a closer look at my heart and open it even more, fully to the God who loves me so much, asking Him to come in and be the bedrock I rest my whole existence on. As a result of experiencing this book, I was able to ask Jesus to come and be the King of my heart, where He belongs.

Since, I’ve been experiencing a freedom and new sense of purpose that I never knew existed. Old habits and vices I had once used to squelch that persistent “itch” inside for satisfaction are falling away as I continue to journey straight to the heart of all the matters.

Everyone should read this – not just moms or even women. There’s something about each of us that the world has taught us is our identity and that we’ve agreed with. It’s time to break up with the lies and learn the real truth for yourself. This guide is a fantastic companion!

Danny- This book blessed me! I have often had those “I’m just a mom, and I’m not enough” moments more often than I’d like to admit, and this book hit the nail on the head with each section/topic. I love the bible verses, I love the positivity on every page, and I love how it seems like you’re talking to, or in this case reading a message from, a close friend. The one quote that stood out to me was “You are simply enough because God has made you enough”. It is short and sweet, but thought provoking. Great read!

Going Green- This book is a very easy read and was a blessing for me. I am not a mom and this book still speaks to me because it talks about feeling a void in your life and how you need to turn in that void and its contents over to God. So that we can become the beautiful strong, powerful women that God promises us in His word. Gladys discusses some very easy daily practices to help us bring focus and discipline to our lives.

Nancy S- What a helpful, heartfelt journal. This book is not just for Moms. It is for everyone struggling to not just survive, but to thrive in a world that attacks us on so many fronts. This is such a sweet read for anyone, and helpful for so many hurting people because it speaks truth into our souls.
