I went from less than 100 views per month on my blog to 600!
Disclaimer: I was only able to do this through prayer, hard work, research and the proper resources. By utilizing all of these, I was able to get more views on my blog.
So as you can see from this totally transparent post, here are my numbers from jetpack. You can see that I averaged less than 100 views per month mainly. After applying these tips, I was able to grow to 600 views in one month! As a disclaimer, I am new to this but I prayed hard and worked my tush off to get these results. I just want to encourage you, that if I can do it, so can you!
#1.) I can not stress this enough! You have to pray, pray some more, and then pray even more. There is something about opening your atmosphere up to the Lord and giving Him every aspect of your life, even blogging. I began praising God and I made up in my mind that I was going to work hard for Him and his glory. I found scriptures that encouraged me: I also worship all day. LITERALLY, I HAVE LAUREN DIAGLE GOING ALL DAY LONG.
These are the scriptures that I use:
Romans 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
1 Corinthians 10: 31 Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God.
#2.) I surrounded myself with like-minded people. I would talk to my family members about my blog and it was like, they couldn’t help but point out everything my blog wasn’t. I know they meant no harm as they thought they were helping but man, it really hurt. I would try telling my hubby and he would listen but I knew he didn’t understand why I was excited about Pinterest lol. So I separated that part of myself and kept it close to me, God and like-minded people. It really helped to have a supportive group, just someone who could listen and be excited for and with me.
#3.) I went on google and I literally searched for free Pinterest programs, free blog help, any blog post, blog 101 etc and YouTube videos that were blog related. Once I found some that I thought were reliable, I signed up for every last one of them. Printed out every work book and I read each one. Not rushing but really taking my time and taking notes. Then I went to every webinar. I was the first to sign in and last to leave. I left comments and really engaged (making connections along the way).
#4) I purchased Carmen Browns book, ‘By His grace We Blog’!!!! OHHHHH MY GOSH, y’all, listen to me. I need y’all to get this book. I’m still on Chapter 5 and I’m still getting so much out of it. She literally teaches how to find your niche, how to create space, how to pray and worship, how to set goals etc. The biggest thing that really stuck to me in this book thus far is that this is my ministry. Once I realized that, I was able to go all in. Seriously y’all, very rarely do I come across a book that is clearly directed by the Holy Spirit but this book makes you ask yourself and God some important questions. It’s like the perfect blend of practicality and spirituality. If you want to change your blog and your mindset on blogging, then click here and buy this book, like now.
#5) I got off my booty and stopped comparing my site and self to everyone else. I honestly lost a ton of work, effort and time by comparing my blog to other people in my niche. I would complain my graphics weren’t like their’s or I couldn’t write like them. Silly Gladys. God made it very clear that what He has for me, is for me, just as what He has for them is for them. As Paul said paraphrased, if one waters and the other plants, who cares as long as the word is going forth.
1 Corinthians 3:7-9 7 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
#5)Here is a list of places I utilized Freebies from and paid $7-$20 for workbooks or programs.
Caroline Vencil- I LOVE HER!
Elite Blogging Academy- definitely take a hold of their free things. I AM IN A FREE 5 DAY BOOT CAMP WITH THEM NOW.
Carmen Browns By His Grace We Blog
Various YouTube videos
#6.) I really gave my all this month. I sacrificed so much time. I was exhausted most days but I knew I had to work hard and I wanted so badly to glorify God. To get my content out there. To encourage women. And so I stayed up late nights and woke up early mornings. I would spend hours learning Pinterest. Learning meta data. Learning everything to make my blog work. Make it accessible.
#7) I began utilizing group boards, link ups, joining different Facebook groups. I began going to other people’s blogs and commenting posts I really enjoyed and liked and related to. I began supporting others. That made a huge difference because in return, they supported me.
Out of all my freebies, out of everything I did: the things I think everyone needs is :
Prayer and submission to God
A prayer journal to write blogging ideas and desires down (in Carmen’s book)
And how to utilize Pinterest
Again guys, I certainly haven’t ‘arrived’ but I just really wanted to share with you how I was able to make such a positive change in my blogging career. Guys, if I can do this, you certainly can!
